We received a cry for help the week of October 19th to remove 18 horses off of someone's property due to unsanitary and unhealthy living conditions in Walworth County, WI. Horse breeds consist of 13 Morgans - 9 of which are full Lippitt, 1 welsh pony, 1 miniature donkey, 1 hackney, 1 standardbred, and 1 grade. Ages are ranging from 2 years all the way to 34 years.
All funds raised will go directly to the costs of removing these horses from the property, providing all necessary medical treatments and veterinary checks, providing feed and necessary supplements, transportation, and board until they are re-homed.
Efforts to remove these horses took place on October 24th, unfortunately we were only able to afford to move 1 of the Lippitt Morgan mares at this time. The county is scheduled to return to the property on October 27th to remove the remaining horses - details on their placement at this time is still unknown.
For those who don't know, the Lippitt Morgans are the original type Morgan horse, dating all the way back to the 1700's. Over time, their numbers have been quickly declining. As a Lippitt Morgan breeder, it breaks my heart to see the condition these horses are living in - our goal is to preserve the original type Morgan horse and continue the legacy started by my Grandpa. In this instance however, we are fighting for the well-being of all of these horses.
